After 6 weeks of letting off steam and learning how to fake fight your foes, stage combat/combat for screen is officially over. I'm sad to see it go, I've thoroughly enjoyed learning how to fight with my fists, replica weapons and swords, but it won't be long until semester 2 rolls round and we start doing stage combat once again!

For the final lesson, the class performed our fight scenes to be graded by Derren. I was paired with Ieuan, and we created a scene centred around a female assassin who had interrupted a high-level drug operation. We arrived at university early on the day of the assessment to ensure we had enough time to run through our scene and perfect the moves. I feel this helped us become more in tune with each other too, ensuring that our fight not only looked realistic, but also that we were performing safely.

I am incredibly proud of the scene we produced. It was performed well with realistic moves and a variety of fighting styles. The dialogue was accurate and the chemistry between us as performers made the scene interesting to watch.

I'll be sure to post the grade and feedback for this module as soon as I get it. Stay tuned!
